For over five decades, The Ocean Race has been the ultimate test of teamwork, endurance, and ocean exploration. Today, it is also a global platform for sustainability β using the power of sport to drive awareness and action for ocean health. As we prepare for The Ocean Race Atlantic 2026 and The Ocean Race 2027 (round the world race), we continue to grow our global audience through high-quality storytelling, media engagement, and impactful communications.
π― Your Mission
As Communications & Digital Coordinator, you will be the operational and digital anchor at our Race Headquarters in Alicante. We are looking for a proactive, highly organised professional with a sharp eye for digital content who thrives in fast-paced environments and can seamlessly keep our internal media and communications machines moving.
π What Youβll Be Doing
- Digital Workflow Coordination: Act as a key link between the communications teams on the ground at Host Cities and the production team back at HQ, ensuring smooth file transfers, messaging alignment, and administrative support.
- Social Media & Video Support: Assist the digital content and video areas with reviewing, clipping, and editing short-form video content tailored for social media platforms.
- Content Publishing: Support the channels team by occasionally scheduling and publishing multilingual website content, articles, and social media posts during peak race times or live updates.
- Support our Digital Asset Coordinator in tagging, categorising, and organising race imagery and video footage in our digital asset library (Iconik) to ensure internal teams, media outlets, and partners have instant access.
- Cross-Departmental Support: Provide general organisational, translation (French to English and vice versa), and production assistance to the wider communications, website, PR, and broadcast production teams.
π Impact of the Role
- Departmental Backbone: Serve as a vital linchpin across all communications areas, ensuring the entire department operates smoothly and efficiently, both operationally and administratively.
- Seamless Global Operations: Bridge the gap between home base and the field, providing crucial stability to both HQ operations and on-the-road crews so they can focus on capturing the race.
- Flawless Media Pipeline: Keep our global communications and digital workflows running without delay by managing and delivering real-time media assets exactly when and where they are needed.
