🎯 Your Mission

As Head of Broadcast & Audiovisual Content, you will be a leader for the strategic planning, coordination, and delivery of all television, broadcast, and media production for The Ocean Race. You will oversee both our world-class broadcast delivery and our internal video production ecosystem, bridging the gap between live television, video content creation, and global distribution.

This role requires a dynamic and inspiring leader capable of driving The Ocean Race’s transformation into a year-round, purpose-driven media and sport brand. You will manage the multidisciplinary video production team (including videographers and video editors) to ensure a cohesive, high-quality, and purpose-driven narrative that maximizes our global reach and elevates our storytelling across all distribution channels.

Success in this role will be measured by the delivery of a premier, elite-tier TV product, the optimization of video production workflows, increased global media visibility, and the seamless integration of storytelling and purpose across all broadcast formats, within the wider communications framework of The Ocean Race.


🚀 What You’ll Be Doing

TV Broadcast Production & Global Distribution

  • Lead the end-to-end production strategy, managing the planning, budgeting, and execution of all TV broadcast operations and live race coverage.
  • Develop a long-term broadcast and distribution vision that integrates live content, long-form/short-form video storytelling, and international media syndication to expand global reach year-round inline with the communications goals of The Ocean Race .
  • Direct and oversee world-class TV production workflows, driving the growth of premium products like the Onboard Live platform and future broadcast innovations.
  • Build and implement a global content distribution strategy, expanding broadcast reach through international syndication, new and existing rights-holders, major networks and new digital platforms.
  • Take full ownership of the global video asset distribution workflow, optimizing how live feeds, broadcast highlights, feature stories, and daily packages are shared with international media partners.
  • Leverage broadcast metrics, media monitoring, and distribution analytics to optimize delivery strategy, maximize audience KPIs, and track production performance.

Audiovisual Production & Content Leadership

  • Direct and lead the internal video production engine, managing the multidisciplinary group of videographers and video editors to ensure a cohesive, premium narrative.
  • Supervise the end-to-end creative production pipeline, streamlining raw content ingestion, rapid video editing workflows, and final high-quality distribution.
  • Develop and maintain the highest standards of high-quality digital video production to ensure premium quality standards across all output channels and for historical archive assets.
  • Manage resource allocation, schedules, HR coordination, and freelance rosters for both the video editing/videography crew and external production partners.
  • Ensure absolute alignment between the overall TV/broadcast narratives, the internal audiovisual content produced, and the Race’s sport, sustainability and purpose objectives.

Minimum requirements

🧩 What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience in TV production, broadcast coordination, and media management within sports, entertainment, or large-scale live events.
  • Proven track record of managing end-to-end production pipelines, including strict project planning, scheduling, and budget management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary video teams (videographers, video editors, and technical broadcast crew).
  • Deep understanding of international content distribution, media syndication plans, and live sports broadcasting logistics.
  • An entrepreneurial, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to keep a cool head in high-pressure, live broadcast environments.


Requirements

  • Fluency in English (other languages are a strong asset).
  • Ability to be based in or relocate to Alicante (Spain).
  • Availability to travel internationally during event periods.
