🎯 Your Mission

As our IT Systems Administrator in the Technology Department, you will work closely with various teams across Race HQ in Alicante to keep our tech infrastructure running seamlessly without bottlenecks.

You will combine hands-on operational support with data visualization and telemetry management. During race periods and live TV productions, you will adapt to dynamic schedules (including potential night shifts) to deploy and maintain on-site IT and boat infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations and supporting our global team on the ground.


πŸš€ What You’ll Be Doing

  • Database & Telemetry Management: Maintain the Race Database and race telemetry systems, developing and maintaining front-end code for onboard systems.
  • Data Visualization & Systems Optimization: Design and implement functional IT requirements, including data visualization using Grafana, and test new systems to optimize overall race performance.
  • TV Production & Connectivity: Support TV production by ensuring zero-bottleneck performance and developing/testing multimedia connectivity solutions under live conditions.
  • Infrastructure & HQ Support: Set up and manage IT infrastructure at HQ (including backups, network installation, and security) while providing proactive support to local and remote end-users.
  • On-Site & Event Deployment: Deploy and maintain IT and boat infrastructure during event phases, offering hands-on technical support under live event schedules.
  • One Team Approach: Proactively foster a collaborative one-team spirit with all internal departments and the wider The Ocean Race Family.

Minimum requirements

🧩 What We’re Looking For

  • Proven Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar IT Systems Administrator role.
  • Systems & Scripting: Proficiency in Mac and Linux environments, complemented by intermediate scripting skills.
  • Networking & Security: Solid knowledge of networking and security management, with familiarity with providers such as MikroTik and Fortinet to ensure maximum availability.
  • Data & Multimedia Savvy: Good hands-on experience with Grafana for data visualization, database maintenance, and multimedia connectivity solutions.
  • Adaptable & Calm Under Pressure: Ability to adapt working hours and schedules (including night shifts during TV production/race phases) while maintaining a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong Communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments and external technical partners.

  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to start as soon as possible and commit to the role until July 9th, 2027.
  • Ability to be based in Alicante (HQ) with flexibility for occasional travel and shift work during race periods.
  • EU national status or valid EU work permit.
