Junior Video Editor

The Video Producer / Editor Coordinator is a creative role where you will not only edit projects from a brief, but generate new ideas and original content using your knowledge and experience of content production.

This role will be based in our HQ in Alicante where you will be joining a fast-moving, english language environment where you will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects including social media clips, promos, editorial news output and documentary storytelling.

You will have strong editing skills in Adobe Premiere, and an ability to use After Effects. Familiarity with sport or sailing is a strong plus but not essential.

This role sits within the Communications’ team in The Ocean Race HQ, in Alicante, reporting to the Lead Video Producer but working closely with an experienced international staff, and supporting our award-winning sustainability and commercial departments.

You will be working on video storytelling and communications efforts between now and the end of the upcoming edition of The Ocean Race.

Minimum requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Strong skills in Adobe Premiere, and familiarity with Adobe After Effects and other Adobe Creative Suite software.
  • Good level of English - you will be working in an English speaking environment and dealing with people of many different nationalities. You will also be editing material and interviews in English.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the main social media video platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok);
  • Experience working in a professional media production or television environment is desirable.
  • Familiarity with sailing and sports content is a strong advantage but not essential;
  • Be a team player and comply with the values of The Ocean Race: trust, excellence & care;
  • Project management skills, including working to briefs, liaising with multiple stakeholders and taking responsibility for delivering a high level product.
  • A creative and proactive mindset.
  • Be comfortable working to tight deadlines and managing your time efficiently;
  • Able to relocate to Alicante, Spain.
  • EU national or ability to acquire necessary EU working permits.
