The Ocean Race Learning, launched in 2017, aims to increase ocean literacy, inspire positive action, and empower younger generations to protect and restore ocean health through accessible, high-quality educational resources used worldwide.


🎯 Your Role

As an Ocean Literacy & Learning Intern, you will support the development and delivery of educational and engagement initiatives that promote ocean literacy and inspire action across diverse audiences.

This is a hands-on, learning-driven role, where you will contribute to real projects linked to global events and educational programmes while gaining experience in sustainability education and social impact.


πŸš€ What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support Ocean Literacy initiatives linked to The Ocean Race Atlantic and upcoming events
  • Assist with outreach and engagement of The Ocean Race Learning programme and related activities
  • Support data collection, analysis, and reporting to measure programme impact
  • Contribute to the development of case studies and impact stories
  • Provide general support across learning, education, and engagement workstreams

Minimum requirements

🧩 What We’re Looking For

You don’t need extensive experience β€” but you do need mindset.

  • Interest or background in education, sustainability, marine science, or STEAM-related fields
  • Passion for ocean protection and youth engagement
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in a mission-driven environment
  • Organised, proactive, and eager to learn
  • Comfortable working in a remote, international environment

  • Currently enrolled as a student in a university or educational institution
  • Ability to formalise a practical training agreement (internship agreement) with your university or educational centre
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Availability for the full internship period
