π About The Ocean Race
For over five decades, The Ocean Race has been the ultimate test of teamwork, endurance, and ocean exploration. Today, it is also a global platform for sustainability β using the power of sport to drive real impact for ocean health.
Through our Racing For The Ocean initiatives, we connect communities, raise awareness, and drive action through education, science, and engagement.
The Ocean Race Learning, launched in 2017, aims to increase ocean literacy, inspire positive action, and empower younger generations to protect and restore ocean health through accessible, high-quality educational resources used worldwide.
π― Your Role
As an Ocean Literacy & Learning Intern, you will support the development and delivery of educational and engagement initiatives that promote ocean literacy and inspire action across diverse audiences.
This is a hands-on, learning-driven role, where you will contribute to real projects linked to global events and educational programmes while gaining experience in sustainability education and social impact.
π What Youβll Be Doing
- Support Ocean Literacy initiatives linked to The Ocean Race Atlantic and upcoming events
- Assist with outreach and engagement of The Ocean Race Learning programme and related activities
- Support data collection, analysis, and reporting to measure programme impact
- Contribute to the development of case studies and impact stories
- Provide general support across learning, education, and engagement workstreams

Minimum requirements
π§© What Weβre Looking For
You donβt need extensive experience β but you do need mindset.
- Interest or background in education, sustainability, marine science, or STEAM-related fields
- Passion for ocean protection and youth engagement
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in a mission-driven environment
- Organised, proactive, and eager to learn
- Comfortable working in a remote, international environment
β Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a student in a university or educational institution
- Ability to formalise a practical training agreement (internship agreement) with your university or educational centre
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Availability for the full internship period
