Video Librarian

Description

The Video Librarian role is key to our media operation in Alicante and around the world. The Ocean Race gathers thousands of hours of material during the round-the-world race, and a large amount of content between races. The efficient ingest, organisation and logging of this material is vital to media and news distribution, social media content creation, documentary production and delivering commercial value for our teams, partners and sponsors.

You will play a lead role in the creation of a new video archive alongside our world-class technology team, and you will also be in charge of ingesting, organising and logging content until the end of the next The Ocean Race in the summer of 2023.

You will have relevant experience in this area in a professional environment, and an understanding of good file management practice, metadata and media production workflows.

You will also have a meticulous attention to detail and be comfortable creating and enforcing workflows and systems.

This role is based in The Ocean Race headquarters in Alicante as part of the Communications team.

Minimum requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • a good standard of English - must be comfortable working in a very international English speaking environment and liaising with outside parties in English;
  • An interest in sport or sailing is a plus;
  • Excellent attention to detail, team working and communication skills;
  • Excellent organisational skills;
  • An understanding and awareness of copyright and potential usage issues is desirable;
  • Experience with media libraries, including file organisation and logging;
  • Knowledge of existing media library systems and logging workflows;
  • Knowledge of different recording video file formats and delivery formats;
  • Ability to establish new systems and workflows for media management and library organisation;
  • Confidence in maintaining and enforcing workflows within the team of editors;
  • Experience with cloud storage and remote production workflows would be extremely desirable;
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software;
  • Experience in international media organisations or sport would be desirable but not essential;
  • Be comfortable working to tight deadlines and managing your time efficiently;
  • Able to relocate to Alicante, Spain; and
  • EU national or ability to acquire necessary EU working permits.
