A part of the sailing race, The Ocean Race is engaging in a more and more policy driven environment. Through The Ocean Race Summits the race seeks to influence policy for a healthy ocean on local, national and global level. In being a global sporting event relations are held with cities and governments around the world planning future races.

The Video Producer & Editor is a creative role where you will not only shoot and edit projects from a brief, but generate new ideas and original content using your knowledge and experience of content production. Your main focus will be to make policy proposals live in videos. You will also be required to create videos to support other key areas of the company, such as our commercial and sustainability departments.

You will be an essential part of The Ocean Race’s team that is focused on an ambition to give the ocean a voice in its own right, with the goal of helping to drive a Universal Declaration of Ocean Rights.

This role will be based in our HQ in Alicante, Spain, where you will be joining a fast-moving, English language environment. You will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects including social media, promos, editorial news output and documentary storytelling. You will surely be requested to travel to The Ocean Race Summits' host cities.

You will have strong shooting and editing skills in Adobe Premiere, and experience with using After Effects. Familiarity with sport or sailing is desirable, but not essential.

You will be formally part of the Communications Department, and an essential part of the team delivering The Ocean Race Summits.

Minimum requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Experience in end to end video production and storytelling;
  • Experience in video shooting;
  • Strong skills in Adobe Premiere, and familiarity with Adobe After Effects and other Adobe Creative Suite software;
  • Good level of English - you will be working in an English speaking environment and dealing with people of many different nationalities. You will also be editing material and interviews in English;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the main social media video platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok);
  • Experience of working in a professional media production or television environment is desirable.
  • Interest in policy and the global political landscape
  • Familiarity with sailing and sports content is a strong advantage but not essential;
  • Be a team player and comply with the values of The Ocean Race: trust, excellence & care;
  • Project management skills, including working to briefs, liaising with multiple stakeholders and taking responsibility for delivering a high level product.
  • A creative and proactive mindset.
  • Be comfortable working to tight deadlines and managing your time efficiently;
  • Able to relocate to Alicante, Spain.
  • EU national or ability to acquire necessary EU working permit.
