🎯 Your Mission

As Volunteers & Events Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the heartbeat of the race, seamlessly merging the strategy and execution of both our global Volunteer Programme and event operations.

You will lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of memorable events across Host Cities while empowering local teams to build a diverse, engaged, and highly efficient volunteer network that drives the success of the race on the ground.


πŸš€ What You’ll Be Doing

Volunteer Programme Management (Pre-Race, Race & Post-Race):


  • Collaborate with internal departments to define volunteer profiles, and oversee the recruitment, planning, and onsite management strategy for each Host City.

  • Lead the onboarding process by designing live welcome sessions, creating online materials, and producing the official Volunteer Handbook.

  • Travel to Host Cities pre-event to present onboarding sessions, supervise onsite operations, shifts, and manage the official Race mascot, β€˜Wisdom’.

Event Planning & Delivery:


  • Draft key event documents, update run sheets and prepare screen information.
  • Manage stakeholder communication via RaceNet (external app) and internal channels.
  • Research creative event concepts, contact suppliers, collate quotes, check invoices, and purchase necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Support onsite event delivery by setting up back-of-house production offices, managing inventory, briefing suppliers/temporary staff, supporting MCs, and coordinating entertainment acts.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with Host Cities, venues, and key suppliers.
  • Assist with the delivery of business development, VIP/protocol programs, Guest Experience, Operations, and Guest On-board programs as required.

  • Ensure smooth, sustainable, and highly professional event operations and volunteer management across all stopovers.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and well-organized environment for hundreds of volunteers globally.
  • Contribute directly to the flawless execution of world-class event experiences for fans, stakeholders, and VIP guests.
  • Promote networking and knowledge-sharing among Host City Volunteer Managers, leading pre-event and post-event debriefs and analyzing feedback surveys to generate comprehensive improvement reports.

Minimum requirements

🧩 What We’re Looking For


  • Experience in event management and/or volunteer coordination within sports, festivals, or large-scale international events.
  • Proven ability to manage logistics, budgets, suppliers, and diverse teams under pressure in live event environments.
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to liaise effectively with Host Cities, agencies, and internal departments.
  • A creative, highly organized mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
  • A hands-on, proactive, and solution-oriented professional who thrives on the road and in fast-paced environments.

  • Fluency in English.
  • Full availability to travel internationally and spend extended periods on-site during events.
  • Ability to be based in or relocate to Alicante (Spain).
